Let Google know you exist
Use this free Google tool to let Google know your website is open to search traffic
Awesome. You’ve published a website, setup a blog or got an e-commerce store going. But how does Google know you’re open to the public? That’s where the Google Search Console comes in.
(You can find it at https://search.google.com/search-console/about)
In order to let Google know you’re site is live, you’ll have to do 2 steps:
Step 1: Enter in your domain name
I don’t recommend segmenting your website. Let any and all content show up in Google search.
Step 2: Add a TXT record to your domain name
Google needs to authorize your domain name via a code.
That’s it. Give Google some time to index and learn about your website.
Disclaimer: This is not how you get to page 1
Don’t confuse this technique for thinking that you’ll be on the top page of Google in a few days. Google doesn’t know who you are and therefore doesn’t trust you. This part takes time. But at least you’d tossed out a line letting Google know that you are out there and they will find you.
